I am an epidemiologist with 10+ years experience in HIV research from the micro to the macro level, with training in the basic sciences, molecular and clinical epidemiology and population health. My publications encompass HIV vaccine design; liver disease progression & etiology; program implementation and evaluation in HIV prevention; and dynamic transmission models of HIV and sexually transmitted infections (STIs).
My research interests include longitudinal methods and analysis in genetic, molecular, and clinical epidemiology; infectious diseases like HIV and HIV co-infections, especially Hepatitis C and other STIs. I have an evolving interest in using and generating epidemiological data to inform
• targetted interventions & care cascades for HIV, Hepatitis C and STIs and
• dynamic mathematical models of transmission
particularly as they affect the public health of people who inject drugs and men who have sex with men.
I recently completed a CTN (CIHR Canadian HIV Trials Network)-funded postdoctoral fellowship, working on the epidemiology and mathematical modeling of HIV-Hepatitis C virus (HCV) co-infection in the context of HIV pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) implementation and changing sexual mixing patterns. I hold a PhD in Epidemiology from McGill University and an MPH from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health.
