I am a Clinical Pharmacist (B. Pharm.) with a Master’s degree in Epidemiology and Implementation Science from the University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg, South Africa. My research interest and work focuses on Health Services and Implementation Research to strengthen health systems and inform policy at both national and global levels. I have served as a Program Coordinator, a Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist and a Pre PhD Fellow. My passion for implementation science and knowledge translation is deeply rooted in the tangible impact it has on healthcare systems and outcomes. The realization that implementation research serves as a bridge between theory and practice, has become a driving force in my academic and professional pursuits.
My PhD research would focus on leveraging implementation science to advance the adoption of point-of-care testing for infectious diseases such as HIV infection, viral hepatitis and sexually transmitted infections (STIs) in community organizations serving key populations in Canada, such as people who inject drugs.
