The 2nd Canadian Symposium on Hepatitis C Virus took place in Victoria in March 2013 under the theme “A call to action”. Specifically discussed were recent advances in HCV research in Canada in the field of biomedical science, clinical science, social, behavioural sciences, and epidemiology/population health. One outcome of the meeting was a consensus on having our own national HCV strategy to identify gaps in policies and programs to more effectively address the challenges of expanding HCV screening and treatment.
