The 5th Canadian Symposium on Hepatitis C Virus took place in Montreal in February 2016 under the theme “We’re not done yet: remaining challenges in Hepatitis C”. The meeting focused on identifying strategies to enhance prevention, diagnosis and treatment of HCV using the new highly effective therapies, and included discussions on the need for and current state of development of an HCV vaccine, which in conjunction with new therapies could aid in the elimination of HCV in Canada.
