CATIE 6th CSHCV 2017 Learning Institute & webinar
For the second year in a row, CanHepC has partnered with CATIE on an initiative called the HCV Symposium Learning Institute.
The Learning Institute is a knowledge exchange event that aims to distil and disseminate key research findings from the Canadian Symposium on Hepatitits C Virus while bringing in community perspectives. This year, 10 frontline workers and community based leaders in HCV care were invited to attend the 6th Canadian Symposium on Hepatitis C Virus (CSHCV) 2017 in Banff, AB.
Several events were organised before and after the 6th CSHCV including a pre-symposium overview and orientation event in Banff with the Learning Institute participants where some CanHepC trainees gave short presentations on some of the topics presented at the symposium.
CATIE then organised a post-symposium webinar using the feedback from the Learning Institute participants to synthetize some of the most relevant research findings from the symposium for front line organisations.
The English webinar entitled “Delivering a Cure for Hepatitis C Infection: What are the remaining Gaps? An overview of the latest in research and implications for frontline efforts” took place on March 15th, 2017 but is available to watch via the CATIE website.
A French version of this webinar entitled “Offrir un remède contre l’infection à l’hépatite C: quelles lacunes subsistent?” is also available and focuses on specific themes and outcomes from the Symposium that relate to the Quebec region.
We are looking forward to continue this partnership with CATIE for another Learning Institute at the 7th CSHCV in Toronto in 2018.
